OVERVIEW
Tariff-free precision, close to your customer
Penang is Tutamen's first manufacturing presence in South-East Asia and our answer to customers asking the same question: how do we ship from outside China without giving up the engineering backbone? The plant is sited inside a Free Trade Zone with bonded-warehouse status — Made in Malaysia, ASEAN-Pacific logistics, no China tariff exposure.
The line is configured as a complete face-plate and FATP (Final Assembly, Test, Pack-Out) cell — precision-machined enclosures and chassis components, finished, decorated, assembled, tested, and packed for retail or OEM delivery in one pass. Three ISO certifications cover quality (9001), medical devices (13485), and environment (14001), making this the right site for regulated consumer health and medical programmes as well as standard industrial work.
CAPABILITIES
A face-plate line, end to end
Metal Stamping & Turret Punch
NCT and small-run stamping for sheet-metal enclosures and chassis components.
Welding
Spot, TIG, and assembly welding for sheet-metal sub-assemblies. Matched to the bending and forming cell.
Bending & Press-Brake
Press-brake forming and laser cutting for prototype-to-production sheet metal. Co-located with the QC bench.
Finishing
Automatic sandblasting, nylon polishing, brushing, tunnel-pulling conveyor furnace, high-temperature oven, knife grinder.
Decoration & Print
Two-colour pad printing, silk screening, laser etching. For branded retail-finish work.
Riveting & Hardware Insertion
Two hydraulic riveters integrated into the FATP cell. Threaded inserts, captive fasteners, mounting hardware.
FATP — Final Assembly, Test, Pack-Out
End-to-end finished-device assembly with on-line test and pack. Wearables, smart devices, electronics, IoT.
QUALITY
A purpose-built QC centre on the floor
Dimensional
Optical Measurement Machine (OMM) for first-article and in-process dimensional inspection.
Finish
Color tester, coating thickness gauge, gloss check. Pantone-matched to brand spec.
Mechanical
Tensile testing machine and tensile tester. Two digital push-pull gauges for fastener and assembly verification.
Electrical
Multimeter, power polarity detector — for assembled electronic devices going through FATP.
Environmental
Salt spray testing chamber — corrosion qualification for outdoor and medical-environment products.
